Kef on January 25, 2018

To raise awareness of the Mashrou3i project, an Information Day was held on January 25, at the Dahmani Training Center. The session was moderated by Abbes Boulaabi, HP LIFE Coordinator for Northern regions and Mariem Mannai, HP LIFE Trainer.

During this day, nearly 50 young students in industrial maintenance, air conditioning, automation and industrial computing, industrial electricity and electro-mechanics, followed the presentation of the Mashrou3i project with great interest, learning more about how their participation can help them to create their own project in the future.

Mashrou3i is a public-private partnership implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in partnership with the Tunisian Government and with support and funding from USAID, the Italian Cooperation and the HP Foundation. The Mashrou3i program offers innovative entrepreneurship training and deep-dive business coaching in 14 regions of the country. It aims to unlock the potential of Tunisian businesses, stimulate growth and generate new job opportunities for youth. Mashrou3i also enhances the knowledge and capacity of higher education institutions to provide quality learning and improved entrepreneurial training to students and future entrepreneurs in the project’s target regions.

The purpose of this Information Day was to highlight the value of the program, which provides direct support to young entrepreneurs through entrepreneurship training, intensive business coaching and technical assistance.

Young students in Dahmani, who will soon be looking for a job, were particularly interested in the HP LIFE e-Learning platform for Entrepreneurs. Abbes Boulaabi, HP LIFE coordinator for Northern regions explained, “Young people with a project idea can sign up to the HP LIFE e-Learning training and complete the 27 courses on the platform, which will enable them to submit their business model and to strengthen their skills in sales, marketing and communication.”

“The aspiring entrepreneurs will then be supported in HP LIFE regional group coaching workshops to finalize their business plans,” said Abbes. “They will also benefit from personalized technical assistance from the Mashrou3i Project to acquire funding and to develop their marketing strategies, in order to launch their start-ups.
