Mashrou3i presents at the 13th edition of the International Exhibition of Agricultural Investment and Technology, SIAT 2018

On October 10th 2018, the 13th edition of the International Exhibition of Agricultural Investment and Technology (SIAT 2018) was inaugurated by the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Mr. Samir Taïeb, at the Kram Exhibition Center in Tunis.

The national 4-day event highlights the activities and the potential of Tunisia’s industrial, technological and agricultural sectors. This year under the theme “Towards Intelligent Agriculture”, SIAT will represent a crossroads where agricultural producers, fishermen, investors, industrialists, suppliers and researchers will meet.

“The 2018 edition of SIAT gives priority to young agripreneurs using technologies and innovative solutions that constitute the future of agriculture,” said Mr. Samir Taïeb, Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Agriculture. “This event is one of the essential components of the agricultural landscape and sets the direction for the promotion of scientific research and technological progress in this field. It is also an opening space on foreign experiences in this area,” he added.

The Mashrou3i project, a public-private partnership between the Tunisian government, USAID, the Italian Cooperation, the HP Foundation and UNIDO, is proud to be part of the event. The project has provided three agripreneur beneficiaries the opportunity to present their products and to showcase the potential and agricultural development of their regions.

“One of the main goals of the project Mashrou3i is to facilitate access to markets for young agripreneurs in the central, southern and northwestern regions of the country,” said Riadh Bouzaouche, National Coordinator of the project Mashrou3i. “The SIAT represents an appropriate B2B platform to help these entrepreneurs to develop their business activities locally or internationally, while also enhancing the country’s regional products – and its cultural wealth.”
The presence of Mashrou3i at the SIAT represents a major opportunity for beneficiary entrepreneurs to gain access to new markets and to present their activities to foreign and national investors.

“Our presence at SIAT 2018 is an exceptional chance for us, because it enables us to meet our first goal: access to international markets,” says Mr. Nader Bech, sales manager of Ziani, an organic oil company assisted by Mashrou3i. “In just one day, we have already won a Belgian customer interested in exporting our organic olive oil.”

Alongside the presentation of their products, the entrepreneurs also have the opportunity to participate in the B2B meeting sessions in order to forge new relationships with foreign and local partners and investors.

On an exhibition space of nearly 5,000 m² and nearly 250 exhibitors, the SIAT 2018 will continue until October 13, opening the way to numerous business and partnership opportunities between professionals from the agricultural, technological and energy sectors, both from Tunisia and abroad.
